Hello, welcome to this new blog about Witchcraft and Wicca.

Why am I doing this?

Several years ago I began to travel down a new path. Things connected to both Witches and Wiccans had appealed to me for a long time, but I had lacked the confidence to pursue this properly. But recently this changed, and gradually I have begun to introduce different elements into my life. As I researched the various topics though I became aware of just how much information is available, and often it can be confusing trying to sort the good from the bad. Part of my reason for putting together this site is to gather good resources together in one place.

There has been an increase in the number of people identifying as both Witches and Wiccans. We see the idea of Witches becoming more mainstream. There is a growing curiosity about what this means. Therefore another reason for this site is to provide information for people who are curious about what terms mean, or are doing research, perhaps for a school project.

Lastly, I want to provide information in one place for people who want to follow this path themselves but are perhaps not able to openly pursue it. My hope is that by having resources listed in one place, it will be easier for people to learn the information they need.

What is this?

This is not a guide about how to be a Witch, or how to be a Wiccan. Rather this is a site where I will provide connections to various resources that can provide a starting point for your research.

This will not be an exhaustive list – there are vast quantities of books and websites available. Instead, I will be selecting resources that provide a variety of perspectives and experiences. This will be an ongoing task, so this site will be regularly updated. I will be using different types of resources – books, podcasts, websites, even Instagram feeds. Not everything you read will be relevant to you. Take what you need, leave the rest.

Aren’t Witches and Wiccans the same thing?

No. Definitely not. You can identify as both. You can identify as one or the other. But they are definitely not the same thing. However, they do share common themes. My aim is to provide information on both. Hopefully this will help to educate you about the difference in terms, and choose which path is for you.

How do I find information?

As I wrote above, this site is not designed to be a guide to becoming a Witch or Wiccan. Rather, it is a guide to the various resources available which can help you.

There are two main ways to navigate around this site. The first is to choose from either the drop down category menu on the right, or the menu headers at the top of this home page. These will take you to the different types of resources available, such as podcasts, websites, and books. Each of these pages contains several separate articles about individual resources. The second method is to use the tag cloud at the bottom of this page. Each resource featured on this site has a list of tags which are the main items it focuses on. You can use these if you are searching for a specific topic. For example, selecting the tarot tag will take you to a list of all the different resources that discuss tarot. If you click on the photo art banner at the top of the page, it will always return you to this page.

What art did you use in the header?

The photo at the top of this page was taken by me. It contains some of the beautiful images contained in The Eight Coins’ Tattoo Tarot by Lana Zellner. Lana was kind enough to allow me to use the picture. Lana is an incredibly talented artist. The tarot deck can be purchased through most bookstores and online stores. Its ISBN is 978-1-57281-919-1. You can follow Lana’s work at this website and on instagram.
